Multiple sources confirm that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez have separated and are heading for divorce.
The shocking news was first reported by TMZ, a day after their article about Ariana not wearing her ring during the Wimbledon finale. Later more reliable outlets like People, Entertainment Tonight, and Page Six confirmed what was announced by TMZ.
It all started in January 2020 when TMZ shared a video of Grande making out with Gomez at Bar Louie in Northridge, California.
On December 20, 2020, the pop star shared photos with her engagement ring, and after 1 year and a half of relationship, the couple got married on May 15, 2021, in an intimate ceremony attended by 20 people. The marriage lasted three years.
According to TMZ, by January they were separated, but still on friendly terms. They began living separated lives until May when they decided to try it again for two weeks unsuccessfully. During the last few months, Dalton has been seeing someone else and Ariana is “fine” with it. Sourced tell them that Ariana and Dalton are actually “shocked” that no one picked up the separation until today.
TMZ also explains that their differences are what led to the end of the relationship. Dalton often questioned why they needed to go around town with security and he hardly dealt with her schedule, paparazzi, and the various opportunity that took her out of Los Angeles (including shooting the two-part “Wicked” movie in London, directed by Jon M. Chu).
Anyways, neither Ariana nor Dalton spoke about any of what has been reported so nothing is confirmed yet, even if the sources listed by the magazines seem to be reliable.
Since the news has impacted the world, the couple has been trending on Twitter with thousands of tweets, and “thank u, next” is rising in various countries, re-peaking at Number 1 on iTunes Brazil.
